TABLE BOOKINGS

As a small business we cannot survive with the current level of late cancellations and no shows for tables. We only have 13 tables so we really feel the impact when we have stocked our kitchen & bar with fresh produce and staffed our teams based on your bookings only to then have late cancellations or no shows unfortunately. Therefore Cancellations inside 24 hours of your booking and No Shows for Bookings will be charged £10/head. You can cancel using the ResDiary link from your booking confirmation.
Large parties of 10+ will require to pay a £10/head deposit and have to submit a pre order for your food 24 hours prior to arrival. You will be contacted after your booking is confirmed with details on how to pre-order.

CHECKING IN & OUT
Check-in begins at 3pm and check-out is at 11am. In some cases, there may be a small delay getting your room ready for 3pm, for which we sincerely apologise. We will always ensure you are welcomed warmly and provided a comfortable place to relax until your room is ready. If you require a later check-out, please let us know as soon as you possibly can. We will try to be as accommodating as possible with this request, as we want our guests to be able to stay and relax for as long as possible at The Old Dog.

We are an ancient inn – so please take care on all surfaces, some of which are stone and can be uneven or slippery.

ROOM CANCELLATIONS & NO SHOWS

Please contact us via your Sykes Booking confirmation for any cancellations or amendments to Room bookings.

CAR PARKING

We have a car park at the rear of the Pub, which all guests are able to use. All vehicles and their contents are left solely at the owner’s risk and the Pub is not liable for any damage. Please ensure that you park in a way that is respectful to other guests.
PHONE SIGNAL
The mobile phone signal is weak on some networks when inside The Old Dog due to our thick walls and external to the pub also . Calls can be made at the property via WIFI calling, if your device supports it, and WhatsApp.

CHILDREN & FAMILY
If you have young children that require a cot, we can supply one (without bedding) to you free of charge. We have limited availability of cots, so please get in touch prior to your arrival to ensure we can meet your needs.
Flat 1 (Ashbourne View) is suitable for 2 Adults and up to a maximum of two cots for young children staying in a cot

Flat 2 (Thorpe View) is suitable for up to 4 Adults or two Adults and two children utilising one of the bedrooms plus a maximum of two cots also.

Children (below the age of 16) should not be left unaccompanied on the premises.
DOGS
Dogs are allowed in the bar and dining areas of the Pub, and all outside areas. However, we would like to politely ask that all dogs are kept under control by their owners. They must remain at their owner’s table at all times and should be kept on a lead. This will be a huge help to the team and guests at The Old Dog, as it will prevent our furry friends from being trip hazards and protect those who suffer from allergies.

Our flats are bookable for stays with dogs. There is an additional charge for this to cover our extra cleaning costs. All dogs must be clean and dried prior to entry, cannot enter any bedrooms and cannot be left alone in the flats.
SECURITY
While there are alarms and CCTV on the premises, all guests are responsible for their own belongings. We recommend that you keep your room locked when vacating your room.
AFTER HOURS
There will be no staff members on site between approximately 23:00pm to 08:00am. If you require assistance during the night, you will be given a selection of emergency numbers to call in your welcome pack in your accommodation.

GUEST BEHAVIOUR & NOISE
We ask that all guests are mindful of one another when dining and staying as a guest at The Old Dog. Although we are in a remote location, we must also be mindful of the houses around us to ensure we do not disturb our neighbours. If any of our guests are rude or dismissive to staff or other guests, we have the right to ask them to leave, although we sincerely hope this never happens.
All of our guest rooms are located above the kitchen, bar and/or dining areas and therefore some general noise may be heard during opening times. However, we have installed the maximum soundproofing in each of the rooms, where the building could accommodate it, to mitigate any intrusive noise disturbance for the comfort of our guests. We are not a late night pub with most nights seeing a low noise level from 21:00pm.

ALLERGIES & INTOLERANCE
If you have a feather allergy please let us know on booking your room (or at least a day before your stay), so that we can provide hypoallergenic bedding where possible.
Should you suffer from any food allergies or intolerance's and you are dining with us please make your waiter aware of this as soon as possible.
Our kitchen can accommodate nearly all requirements and we will always do our best to ensure you have something delicious to eat.

SMOKING
Smoking and vaping are not permitted inside The Old Dog anywhere. If the smell of smoke is detected in your room upon departure, we may charge an extra fee for the additional cleaning required.
KEYS
Your guest room keys should be returned to a member of staff at the end of your stay or left in the lock box as detailed on check in and in your welcome pack inside the flat. If you have mistakenly taken one of the room keys, following your departure from The Old Dog it must be returned to us within a week to avoid facing a charge.
When using the external door to the rear of the pub at night when the pub has closed to customers, please ensure the door is locked on exit and return before you return to your Flat accommodation upstairs.
ACCOMMODATION ACCESS
Access to both our Flats are from the rear of the pub via a staircase. The bottom of the staircase has a staff access door to the pub which is in daily use during our Opening Hours, please be aware of this as you enter and leave the Flats.
When looking to enter the main pub area, this is only allowed through the front or side door to the pub as detailed on your welcome pack. It is expressly forbidden to access the pub via the staff door due for safety reasons.
